New lens

I spend WAY too much time nitpicking over purchases of photography equipment. I read a recent post over on Aaron Lindberg's blog with the quote "It's the archer, not the arrows." Very good point but I still find my self fussing over whether to get an f/4 lens or f/2.8 lens. I've settled on getting a 70-200 but that's about it. I also can't decide whether or not to invest in an IS lens(I shoot Canon). In the end I should figure out what I'm willing to spend. If my hobby grows into something more I can always invest in something different in the future. I guess I've made the decision right?

Recently ran into an issue using Greenplum to update a column. I had column1 in tableA that needed to be set to the value of column1 in tableB. Finally came across the correct syntax here . Show running queries on Postgresql/Greenplum

I've got some queries that run for a long time. Sometimes longer than others. I wanted to see how long active queries have been running. Here's a view to consistently do that: CREATE VIEW public.view_activequeries AS ( SELECT age(query_start, backend_start) AS queryage,* FROM pg_stat_activity WHERE current_query NOT LIKE '%IDLE%' ORDER BY queryage DESC); Then you just run: select * from public.view_activequeries; You get a list of all active queries in descending order of how long they have been running, i.e. longest running queries listed first.
